Kimono: Thailand 🇹🇭 "Imagine One World Kimono Project" Olympic Japan 2020
โพสท์โดย อ้ายเติ่งThe “Imagine One World Kimono Project” is an initiative, launched in 2014, by the Imagine One World Organization in honor of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The initiative’s goal was to create unique furisode kimono and obi for each of the 213 countries participating in the Olympic Games in order to unite the world in peace and harmony in Tokyo 2020.
The project is headed by Japanese designer Yoshimasa Takakura and the costs of each kimono, estimated to be ¥2,000,000 (a little over $18,000 USD) each, were funded by a combination of public donations, crowdfunding, and corporate sponsorships. This project was also meant to promote the beauty and traditions of kimono culture as well as the cultural iconography of the participating countries.

Thailand formed its National Olympic Committee in 1948 and participated in its first Olympics as a country at the 1952 Helsinki Summer Olympics.
They haven’t hosted any Olympic Games, but they’ve participated in 16 Summer Games and 4 Winter Games. The Olympic sports in which Thailand has medaled are Boxing, Taekwondo, and Weightlifting.
