The History of the Kingdom of Sukhothai, Thailand. The Sukhothai Kingdom was the first independent Thai kingdom. Located in the north of modern-day Thailand, this kingdom, centered around the city of Sukhothai, lasted from 1238 until 1583. The history of Sukhothai is an important part of Thailand’s national narrative, and its legacy is still studied and celebrated today.
Sukhothai Men's clothing was a simple full-sleeved top with a long V shape neck and a cloth brace on their shoulders. The loincloth was made of silk with a big metal or golden belt. Women's clothing was a long silk sarong with flowers painted on it. The top normally is full-sleeved silk cloth. Married women wore one cloth wrapped around the breasts made of silk or other fabric.

เมื่อครั้งที่”พ่อขุนศรีอินทราทิตย์” ทรงสถาปนากรุงสุโขทัยขึ้น เป็นราชธานี แห่งอาณาจักร สุโขทัย เมื่อ พ.ศ.1762 ได้มีหัวเมืองต่างๆที่มีคนไทยปกครองก็หันมายอมรับเอากรุงสุโขทัยเป็น ศูนย์กลางอำนาจ ทำให้มีอาณาเขตแผ่กว้างออกไป มีความเจริญก้าวหน้าในทุกด้านทั้ง ศิลปวัฒนธรรมและวิทยาการ(โอม รัชเวทย์, 2543:44) การแต่งกายของชาวสุโขทัยอาจเทียบเคียง ได้จากภาพเขียนลายเส้นบนแผ่นศิลาจากวัดศรีชุม ภาพลายเส้นบนรอยพระพุทธบาทที่ทำด้วย สำริด รูปหล่อสำริดและตุ๊กตาสังคโลก (คณะอนุกรรมการแต่งกายไทย, 2543: 102-103) ที่แสดง ให้เห็นทั้งทรงผม เสื้อ ผ้าห่ม เครื่องประดับและเครื่องหอม.

✦ Loi Krathong is a very famous tradition originated in Sukhothai, which is the first capital of Thailand. Traditionally the people of Thailand over the country to attend the event held in many provinces.

✦ Loy Krathong Day is one of the most popular festivals of Thailand celebrated annually on the Full-Moon Day of the Twelfth Lunar Month.

✦ The word ลอย /loi - loy/ means ‘to float’ and Krathong กระทง /grà-tong/ is a small lotus-shaped floating receptacle. It could be made from anything; traditionally it is made of banana leaves and banana trunks.

✦ It takes place at a time when the weather is fine as the rainy season is over and there is a high water level all over the country. The ceremony is believed to have originated in the time of King Ramkhamhaeng of Sukhothai, the first capital of Thailand.

✦ Loy Krathong takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. In the western calendar, this usually falls in November each year celebrated throughout the kingdom as well as nearby countries or states with Tai culture such as Laos 🇱🇦, Shan/Mon/Tanintharyi 🇲🇲, Kelantan/Kedah 🇲🇾 and Xishuangbanna 🇨🇳 with different names.
