✦ Thai royal women in the region of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) Period, wearing a "Sabai or shawl" made of Indian silk, on a "สไบจีบ: Sabai Jeeb" (จีบ: Jeeb means pleat) mixed with Thai style folded Chong Kraben(โจงกระเบน), wear shoes and socks imported from Europe.
It was the first clothing style that began to blend with Western culture.
✦ Some worer a band of cloth over the upper body "Sabai or shawl" made of cotton or silk, but there were restrictions to this as sabai was thin and could not cover all the upper body, thus not suitable for going into the temple or palace, or if there is an important ceremony, they will wearing "Phasong-saphak" (ผ้าทรงสะพัก) is Thai embroidery for Thai traditional costume, each differed in length depending on suitability, it was used to wear over ordinary sabai or long sleeve blouse.
Mixed with "panung - ผ้านุ่ง" is a traditional garment worn in Thailand, that is a long strip of cloth, as "a piece of cotton cloth 3 by 10 feet" is wrapped around the waist, reaching below the knees.
