✦ Thaen:แถน is the angel costume in Thai-Lao genealogies in the native society and culture of Isan.

Thaen (the angel in the northeast of Thailand) wears Muag kab (Muag Kab Soeng is a type of hat in the Northeast of Thailand).

The style of dress that appears in the Northeast of Thailand, Laos, and Lan Xang is similar to the costumes of the Sukhothai period overlapping pleated fabric.

 

✦ The Muag kab is a hat that is used in rituals in Northeast Thailand. Muag Kab: It is a triangular-shaped hat embroidered with threads, silk threads, and gold work. It can be found in the Naga ordination ceremony, the Hodrong ceremony (Thera Phisek), and the ritual of asking for the rain of the Isan people in Bun Bang Fai (Rocket festival).

 

Muag Kab or Kra Jom Hua, the meaning here is a crown or chada (headdress) in Isan (northeast of Thailand) and Lao culture (This word appears in Lanna as well), but by making Muag Kab with wood or precious metals, It is unlikely that anyone can make such materials Isan people and Lao people. Therefore, the knowledge was used to modify the sewing handicraft work by sewing Kra Jom Hua (hood head covering) or Muag kab (Muag Kab Soeng) instead.
