โพสท์โดย อ้ายเติ่งThe Gold leaves gilded on black lacquer gum is a technique in the traditional Thai decorative arts consisting of the application of black lacquer gum which gold leaves are covered on surfaces. It was used in the decoration of wooden furniture, especially cabinets, as well as door and window panels, in palaces and Buddhist temples.
Classified in monochrome painting. It is assumed that it has existed since the Sukhothai period was the capital. From evidence in the archives of Siam and China which describes King Ramkhamhaeng developed a royal letter to appoint ambassadors to foster friendly relations with China by writing royal letters in the Lao Rod Nam pattern.
The art form developed and famous during the Ayutthaya period.
