Natalie Glebova in Thai Chakraphat National Costume 🇹🇭

Named for Chakraphat Phiman Hall in the Grand Palace, Thai Chakraphat is formal evening attire that features a metal-thread brocade skirt with a front pleat. Its strapless bodice is concealed beneath a separate pleated shoulder cloth, with a second, embroidered shoulder cloth on top. This style of dress may be worn for formal banquets and official dinners.

 

Thai national and traditional costumes have had a strong influence on neighboring Cambodia. After 2018, Cambodia's traditional attire began to reflect Thai styles, influenced by the popular Thai period drama Bupphe Sanniwat (or Love Destiny), which showcased ancient Thai costumes and culture and gained significant popularity in Cambodia.
