Named for Chakraphat Phiman Hall in the Grand Palace, Thai Chakraphat is formal evening attire that features a metal-thread brocade skirt with a front pleat. Its strapless bodice is concealed beneath a separate pleated shoulder cloth, with a second, embroidered shoulder cloth on top. This style of dress may be worn for formal banquets and official dinners.

Sabai (สไบ) is a shawl-like breast cloth in Thailand. The word sabai originates from the Austronesian term *cahebay, meaning “to hang,” with roots in south China around 5,000-4,500 BCE. In Thailand, evidence of the sabai appears in Dvaravati stucco reliefs showing five women musicians wearing sabai while playing instruments, demonstrating its long history since the 6th century.

After 2018, Cambodia's traditional attire began to copy Thai styles, influenced by the popular Thai period drama Bupphe Sanniwat (or Love Destiny), which showcased ancient Thai costumes and culture and gained significant popularity in Cambodia.
