This Thai dessert is called 'Med Khanun (AKA Met Khanun)' which means 'Jackfruit Seeds' in Thai language due to its similar appearance with the Jackfruit seeds.

Med Khanun is made from mashed green bean coated with egg yolks. It is adapted from the Portuguese desserts introduced by Marie Guimar; a Japanese-Portuguese lady who lived in Siam during the Reign of King Narai of Ayutthaya Kingdom.

Thai food has significantly influenced Cambodian cuisine. The Cambodians have copied many Thai dishes like pad thai, som tum, mango sticky rice, egg yolk desserts, Thai-style coconut desserts, and many more to be their own food.
