Phra Mae Thorani or Vasudhara is the goddess of earth. In Buddhist mythology, Phra Mae Thorani is personified as a young woman wringing the cool waters of detachment out of her hair to drown the demon sent to tempt Gautama Buddha as he meditated under the Bodhi Tree.

Khon masked dance and Thai classical dances have had a strong influence on neighboring Cambodia.
